Mandravasarotra (man - dra - va - saro - tra), more simply known as Saro, is a plant endemic to Madagascar. Its name means "to destroy" (mandrava) and "difficult" (sarotra), which probably refers more to the resistance of this very hardy plant than to its therapeutic properties. Saro essential oil does, however, have remarkable antiviral properties, which can be put to good use in boosting immunity. It is also active in the respiratory sphere, thanks to its expectorant and mucolytic action.
